Job Description

The Accounting - Deduction and Inventory Control primary role is to oversee and resolve all customer deductions and program payments.  Secondary roles include reconciling all inventory locations and assisting Sales budgeting process.

Essential Functions

  •  Collect and organize sales team authorized programs and deductions
  • Match deduction information and backup to deducts taken from payments, review for accuracy / request further information / acquire authorization or reject deduction.
  •  Analyze customer deducts for trends / expected spending and report to management and sales team
  • Enter customer item returns, credits and mis-ships, review no notification inbounds
  • Reconcile all physical warehouse locations, work with various teams on respective locations and enter adjustments on monthly basis
  •  Schedule and oversee yearly physical inventory counts, adjust values to match
  • Post FMNY transfers
  • Monitor changes in budgeting and ensure GL postings reflect expected budget line
  • Respond to inquiries on postings and budgeted amounts
  • Work with Assistant to VP of Sales on budgeting process and template
  • Process quarterly and year-end customer rebates
  • Deposit backup checks and ach

Qualifications

  • Candidates should be outstanding written and verbal communications with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Must display a high level of professionalism with the ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information 
  • A love of good food and interest in the specialty food industry is a bonus!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • At least 2 years of related experience
  • Tech-savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in Outlook and Excel

Location/Travel Requirements

  • This role is a hybrid role (3x in office/2x days remote) based out of the New York office
