Job Description

ClearWater is currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector for a 5 week Turnaround project in Medicine Hat, Alberta, beginning September 2026.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in QA/QC inspection of piping and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all work activities meet project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and ClearWater’s quality requirements while supporting a safe and productive work environment.

Project Details

  • Location: Medicine Hat, AB
  • Project Duration: 2 Months (Turnaround)
  • Start Date: September 7, 2026
  • Schedule: 6 Days In / 1 Day Out
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts
  • Living Out Allowance (LOA): $170 per day
  • Travel Pay: $300 to site and $300 from site

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections on piping, mechanical, and pressure equipment installations and repairs.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, client requirements, industry codes, and quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, boilers, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Review and verify inspection and test plans (ITPs), procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with applicable welding standards and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
  • Identify, document, and communicate non-conformances and support corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with project supervisors, trades personnel, and client representatives to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture while performing all inspection activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Control in Piping and/or Mechanical (Pressure Vessels/Exchangers/Furnaces/Boilers)
  • Possess QAQC specific certifications, such as CWB W178.2 Level 2 
  • Meet minimum mandatory safety ticket requirements: 
    • CSTS-2020 
    • Confined Space Entry 
    • Fall Protection 
    • WHMIS 
  • Physically capable of performing demanding job tasks in various work conditions. 
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required. 
  • Must have own reliable transportation to site. 

Additional Information

This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing.
