Job Description

As a Treasury Co-op Student, you will work closely with our Treasury team to support various financial activities related to cash management, liquidity planning, risk management, and financial reporting. You will have the opportunity to contribute to key projects and initiatives while developing essential skills in financial analysis, data management, and communication.

This full-time position reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance and Treasury. The role begins on August 24, 2026 and spans two consecutive 6-month co-op terms, concluding on August 27, 2027. The position is based at our downtown Calgary head office.

What would you be doing?

  • Assist in daily cash management activities, including monitoring cash balances, initiating and reconciling transactions, EFT administration, wire transfers and forecasting cash flow projections.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
  • Administer corporate credit card programs, including issuing cards, reconciling statements, and monitoring usage.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of treasury technology solutions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end reporting processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with internal and external financial reporting.
  • Review corporate policies and procedures related to treasury and corporate finance, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
  • Support treasury compliance activities, including monitoring regulatory requirements and assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and assignments as directed by the Treasury Manager or senior team members.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field in 3rd or 4th Year.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in finance or treasury is preferred but not required.
  • Industrial construction and/or mining industry experience would be an asset. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and perform quantitative analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
