Job Description

This position is for a Senior Sales Representative that would cover the sales territory that includes Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri.

JOB SUMMARY:  The Senior Sales Rep is responsible for the account management, customer care and the solutions based sales to the customers of FEIN Power Tools, Inc. for the purpose of growing turnover and market share in the industry.  The Senior Sales Rep is responsible for achieving the required sales and revenue results budgeted for their specified territory as well as aggressively pursuing new business, according to the instructions of sales management. 

REPORTS TO:  Regional Sales Manager

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Local and overnight travel regularly required - 75-80%
  • Participates in the planning process to establish territory goals/objectives
    • Produces an annual business plan for the territory
    • Assists in developing a sales and marketing plan for the territory with an aggressive focus on building the metal business
    • Plans, schedules, and prioritizes tasks within territory according to company procedures
  • Executes the tactical and strategic action items of the business plan according to company sales structure and procedure
  • Maintains working and technical knowledge of all FEIN products and associated applications with heavy priority given to metal products and applications
  • Actively interacts and maintains a positive relationships with current dealers and intervenes, when necessary, to resolve client issues
  • Focuses on end users—consistently provides demonstrations, support and solutions to end users and acts as the liaison to Product Management for further development in the industry
  • Reports daily and weekly sales activities through the CRM application to assure quality, timely, follow up and completion
  • Sets priorities in CRM and manages workflow according to company direction to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities
  • Drives and promotes the Center of Excellence training and demonstration seminars in the territory with key dealers, distributors and associated sales forces
  • Adheres to the budget/travel expenses and allocates resources within it

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of successful sales growth and turnover in a territory
  • Must be technically oriented and able to understand complex machine and cutting applications
  • Must be extremely organized, process oriented and exhibit excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Operating Systems (MS Office products, MS Outlook etc.) as well as iPhone/iPad Operating Systems
  • Must be a self-starter, ultimately driven to succeed and self-motivated, as the position is largely disconnected from direct/in-person management

Highly Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge base of power tool functions and capabilities
  • Previous experience in solution/value based selling
  • Experience with consumer hardgoods sold through industrial channels
  • Experience in analytical planning, fiscal responsibility and business ethics
