Job Description
Exponent Partners is seeking a talented and experienced Vice President for Sales who is passionate about applying technology for social benefit to lead our Sales team. The Vice President for Sales is a member of the executive team and is responsible for leading our comprehensive sales efforts including key go-to-market partnerships.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, experienced, collaborative, and highly self-motivated. The position requires knowledge of the nonprofit sector and a proven track record of driving significant growth at a software services or professional services organization.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Managing, mentoring, and supporting a highly consultative and remote team of staff in sales and sales engineering. Continuing to build on a positive and collaborative culture.
- Providing detailed and accurate sales forecasting and analytics.
- Developing goals, strategies, and plans for achieving the company’s sales goals.
- Managing and supporting the entire sales process and life cycle of client engagement.
- Working effectively with team members in Marketing, Operations, Professional Services, and Customer Success to uncover all client needs.
- Developing trusted partner relationships with key clients and leading the closing of strategic opportunities to retain and grow revenue over time.
- Managing strategic partnerships within the market segment to support the company’s sales and strategic goals.
- Assessing and improving the processes and systems currently in place to support the success of the sales functions.
- Maintaining continuous lines of communication, keeping the CEO and executive leadership informed of all critical issues.
- Advising the CEO and other key members of executive leadership on sales strategy; effectively communicating and presenting critical matters.
- Staying current with developments in our industry and our markets. Gathering competitive information on products and services, and sharing this information with the delivery, sales, customer success, and executive teams.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years experience in sales and business development, experience with enterprise sales.
- Proven success in driving significant growth within an information technology company or nonprofit.
- Experience hiring and leading diverse teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to foster collaboration and successfully interact internally across departments and positions, and externally with clients and partners.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong presentation skills, both in person and via telecommunication.
- Hands on approach with a deep thinking, analytical mindset.
