Job Description

Reporting to the Software Development Manager, Experian Health is looking for a Senior Staff Engineer who combines strategic technical leadership with hands-on coding and application development. You will define and guide the technical vision for our backend systems, lead architecture for mission-critical healthcare applications, and influence engineering practices across teams. Healthcare experience is a must.

You'll have opportunity to:

  • Shape platform-wide architecture and technical standards for backend systems
  • Partner with engineering leadership and product strategy to align technical roadmap with our goals
  • Manage initiatives such as performance optimization, cloud-native adoption, and security hardening
  • Be a technical advisor for multiple teams, guiding complex integrations and migrations
  • Represent engineering in executive-level discussions on scalability, compliance, and reliability
  • Write production-grade code for critical components, proof-of-concepts, and performance-sensitive modules
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for maintainability, security, and scalability

Qualifications

  • Expert-level proficiency in .NET Core 8.0, C# 12+, and ASP.NET
  • Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven design
  • Design and implement secure APIs and enforce best practices for authentication and authorization
  • Experience profiling and optimizing large-scale applications (millions of transactions daily)
  • Mastery of clean architecture principles
  • Influence technical direction across multiple teams while remaining hands-on
  • Knowledge of data exchange standards (X12, HL7) and ability to design robust data pipelines
  • Experienced with unit testing frameworks like XUnit and Moq
  • Familiar with API testing tools like Postman or Insomnia
  • Familiar with MongoDB or other NoSQL database systems
  • Familiar with observability tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch) and incident response frameworks
  • Familiar with modern CICD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, Octopus)
  • Comfortable with Git and advanced branching strategies
  • Comfortable working in both Windows (PowerShell) and Linux (bash scripting) environments
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud-native architectures and AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, and EKS)
  • 5+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes)
