As part of the ECS Technology team, you will collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams including Product Owners, Engineers, Designers, and Quality Assurance specialists. Your teams will ship new code multiple times per day using modern technologies to create a secure, cloud-native platform that delights our customers.
Role Overview
We are seeking a collaborative and customer-focused Engineering Manager to lead one to two engineering teams. This is primarily a people leadership role, focused on coaching, supporting, and guiding teams to deliver exciting customer journeys and features while working closely with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage high-performing, effective, and successful software engineering team(s).
- Attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent.
- Deliver secure, resilient, and high-quality software aligned with ECS strategy and product roadmaps.
- Provide guidance and support to multiple agile teams, ensuring adherence to best-practice software development principles.
- Collaborate with Product Owners on technology roadmaps to achieve business goals and maintain a sustainable platform.
- Develop and implement new approaches for efficient and timely delivery.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives within your area of responsibility.
- Manage team performance and development, fostering a strong team culture.
- Increase engagement through regular, transparent feedback and appropriate recognition.
- Ensure the security posture of products and services under your responsibility remains robust and compliant.
Qualifications & Skills
- 14+ years of experience in software development, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of building mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based software systems.
- Extensive expertise in .NET and React, with strong knowledge of microservice architecture delivered on .NET Core, Node.js, and React.
- Hands-on experience with AWS technologies such as CloudFront, S3, Fargate, EC2, Lambda, SNS, SQS, and DynamoDB, as well as cloud development using AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and agile tooling like Jira, Mural, and Confluence.
- Full-stack development experience, including unit testing and acceptance test automation.
- Experience developing Flutter applications for iOS and Android.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software analytics.
- AWS certification is preferred.
- Highly experienced people leader responsible for day-to-day team performance and talent acquisition.
- Skilled in managing and developing Agile teams to deliver value-based outcomes.
- Ability to technically lead teams, handle performance management, and ensure timely deliveries.
- Proactive self-starter who can navigate complex technical scenarios and drive solutions through collaboration.
- Experience working with diverse teams across multiple locations and technologies.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate effectively.
- Keen eye for detail and ability to assess implications of technical findings.
- Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies and continuous improvement mindset.
