Job Description

Role Summary:

We are looking for a motivated Entry-level Generative AI Application Developer to join our team and help build AI-powered internal applications such as chatbots, copilots, and workflow automations. In this role, you will support senior engineers in developing generative AI applications that integrate with Experian’s internal systems and APIs, using modern Python frameworks and large language models. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about generative AI, eager to learn, and looking to build a career in AI application development.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Help develop, and test internal generative AI applications, including chatbots, assistants, and automations that support teams across the company.
  • Implement and maintain Python-based backends and APIs that connect AI applications to internal services, data sources, and business workflows.
  • Use frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and OpenAI Agents / Assistants SDK to orchestrate prompts, tools, and agents.
  • Contribute to retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines (e.g., indexing internal documents, configuring retrievers, and wiring them into LLM flows) – as a strong plus, not a prerequisite.
  • Help document application architectures, workflows, and technical decisions in a clear and structured way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in testing and evaluating AI applications to ensure they are robust, aligned to business requirements, and safe to use (including checking prompts, guardrails, and failure modes).
  • Collaborate closely with product teams and business stakeholders to understand internal use cases and translate them into practical AI-powered solutions.

Why this role is important to us:

This role is vital to us because it supports our commitment to safely and effectively adopting Generative AI across the organization. By joining our team, you will gain hands-on experience building real internal AI applications that will improve productivity and decision-making for our colleagues. You will work alongside experienced engineers who will mentor you in modern AI application design, APIs, cloud deployment, and good software engineering practices. Over time, this role provides a strong foundation to grow into a mid-level or senior Generative AI Application Developer, with a deep understanding of how to build reliable, secure, and impactful AI solutions on a scale. Your contributions will directly influence how we use Generative AI to simplify workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and unlock new value from our data and systems.

    Qualifications

    More About You:

    • A Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
    • Basic understanding of generative AI concepts, such as LLMs, prompts, tokens, and model limitations (hallucinations, bias, etc.)
    • Familiarity with at least one Python-based generative AI application framework, for example: LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI Agents / Assistants SDK, or similar agent/orchestration frameworks.
    •  General understanding of how tools, plugins, or Model Context Protocol (MCP)–style connectors enable AI agents to interact with external systems (training will be provided, but curiosity here is important).
