Job Description
We're a proud .NET house using a rich mixture of the tools and features. We're using Azure PaaS in all new services and are always keen to evaluate new features to see if we can take advantage of them. We use multiple testing and quality techniques, and our services are pushed through our environments using Azure DevOps pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of an agile team to develop quality solutions
- Building and maintaining automation and infrastructure via infrastructure as code that support the delivery of our products to our clients
- Ensure the security, reliability, resilience, and responsiveness of our platforms are maintained and improved
- Document services, automations, best practices, infrastructure, and operational procedures
- Collaborate effectively with product teams to support and enhance the full product lifecycle
- Review proposals, evaluating alternatives, providing estimates and making recommendations
- Be an expert on developing and fulfilling non-functional software requirements and providing technical support
- Revise, update, refactor and debug greenfield and established codebases
- Provide on-call support for production issues when on rota
- Support other team members' development
Experience/Skills:
- Experience in building and supporting cloud solutions on Azure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
- The ability to work with international teams from different cultures and background
- Write clean, scalable code, with a view towards design patterns and best practices
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to analyse problems and requirements
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Passion for continually pushing and improving how we build/test/prove our services
Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:
- 5+ years experience with Azure, preferably with exposure to API use and PaaS offerings (for example App Services and Azure SQL)
- Extensive hands-on with Azure Pipelines to support CI/CD automation
- Strong in infrastructure as code (IAC) using Bicep and terraform
- Experience with Powershell scripting
- Understand networking – including IP addresses, DNS routing, firewalls and WAF's
- Ability to pick up new skills and proprietary code
- Hands-on experience of the use of repositories (e.g. GitHub, Azure Repositories)
- Good understanding of security principles in the cloud and DevOps
- Strong experience in Agile ways of working
- Healthy exposure to databases and database management (MSSQL)
- Any knowledge of developing in C#/.NET would be a bonus
Useful skills:
- Serverless set up and maintenance.
- Understanding of AI tools and how to utilise them in delivering change
