Job Description

Role summary

As part of the ongoing growth of Experian’s Global Finance Services (GFS) organization, an experienced, motivated and proactive General Ledger Analyst is needed to provide the accounting acumen and reporting required by Experian’s Group Financial Reporting function. This challenging role will be based in Experian’s Global Delivery Centre in Cyberjaya, Malaysia and be part of the Record to Report team (R2R), a key and growing part of the GFS team.

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Support GL journal related task including preparation of journal entries, ensure journals to be booked in accordance to company policies, collaborate with stakeholders (Finance Controller, Business Finance and FP&A team) in understanding journal submission and supporting evidence.
  • Ensure all revenue and cost recognition/deferred journals posting according to IFRS15 accounting standard with supporting evidence.
  • Support HFM related task including error validation, half year/year end disclosure following Global timeline, etc
  • Analyze and rectify issues or enquiries about GL transactions within the entities supported.
  • Be an escalation point for any issues involving month end, quarter, year-end close. Manage issues, escalations and/or exceptional handling requests.
  • Stakeholder management includes collaboration with all parties (including Finance Controller, Business Finance, other GFS team, system experts, Group Finance, etc) in handling daily/ ad hoc matters relating to entities supported.
  • Preparation & submission of monthly balance sheet reconciliation files e.g. Prepayment, Other Debtors, Accruals, VAT, Accrued/Deferred Revenue, etc, monitoring/clearing aged reconciling items promptly & attend balance sheet review calls with stakeholders.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with Experian policies and be the first line of defense/ Gatekeeper of the books.
  • Provide support to internal & external Audit process and in accordance to accounting standard. Ensure compliance with all requirements encompassing data integrity and evidence of process and accuracy.
  • Perform other responsibilities periodically assigned by line manager to meet financial reporting requirements and/or other projects.
  • Drive for improvement & streamline processes within General Ledger function.
  • Respond/ handle ad-hoc requests/ divestments/ acquisitions in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

More About You:

  • Candidate must possess either bachelor’s degree, Professional Degree, Finance/Accountancy and/or Professional Certificate in ACCA/CIMA/CPA
  • At least 1.5 year(s) of working experience in General Ledger/audit are required for this position
  • Good and efficient communication skills and time management
  • Able to work as a team or individually as required
  • Agile towards rapid changes due to business directions
  • Ability to work in a high volume, transaction oriented environment.
