Job Description

Major Job Function(s):

We are looking for a highly motivated, results driven Database Administrator Expert as a key aide to both the IT Infrastructure and Development teams to support existing systems 24x7 and responsible for administering Oracle Databases, Oracle eBusiness Suite, Oracle Weblogic, Oracle IDAM, Oracle SOA  in Exalogic LINUX environments, Big Data in BDA/OCI environments and  Exadata.  Typically requires a bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and 10+ years of related experience.

 

Responsibilities:

•       Work with Architecture & Business Unit teams to support, deploy, troubleshoot, and implement enhancements and perform patching, upgrades based on architecture specifications & business requirements.

•        Lead database design discussions with both software developers and DBAs

•       Translate business requirements and logical designs into working physical database designs

•       Will collaborate and communication with all levels of technical and senior business management

•       Will require on-call 24X7 support of production systems on a rotation basis with other team members

•       Create high availability environment using Oracle Real Application Clustering, Data Guard, 18c/19c Grid, RMAN, Flashback Query, ASM, ACFS2, OEM, Diagnostics, Tuning, Configuration, and Provisioning Pack.

•       Support for Oracle Databases 12c RAC and Non RAC environments including on call support.

•       Support for Oracle E-Business Suite R12 environment with High Availability Architecture (RAC, PCP, Load balancing Internal and External web tiers) supporting Oracle Financials/HRMS/Payroll modules and custom applications.

•       Maintain Oracle 12c Middleware application server with High Availability Architecture integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite. Integration of OID with Microsoft AD.

•       Experience installing and maintaining Standby Database (Data Guard) setup and configuration.

•       Supporting multiple UAT, Development (and other such needed environments with similar architecture.

•       Hands On experience in task scheduling, Patching, Apps cloning, SSL Implementation, OEM 19c Grid Monitoring, DMZ Configuration, Load Balancing, Shared APPL TOP were integrated into the core system.

•       Strong skills in backup and recovery procedures using RMAN/FRA and Legato tape libraries.

•       Assist in the review and audit of database security policies, and experience to work closely with the security and auditing teams (internal audit, PWC and PCI payment card industry).

•       Ensure high quality and stability of services provided.

•       Open and coordinate service requests with Oracle Support

•       Participate in Oracle Team meetings

•       Ensure alignment with current IT standards and controls including SDLC

•       Review and evaluate performance of the databases

•       Perform change control requests (code deployments) when approved.

•       Schedule Monthly, Quarterly maintenance windows when required.

•       Supporting Billing Month/Quarter/Year End Activities over the Weekend.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

•       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

•       At least 8+ years of IT DBA experience on large Oracle ERP implementations

•       At least 3+ years of IT experience managing Hadoop environments

•       Experience in supporting High availability architecture with relevant experience in Hadoop technologies. Production implementation experience desired. (Cloudera Hadoop, Spark, etc.

•       Must have strong working knowledge of Big Data components such as YARN, HDFS, HBase, Spark, etc.

•       Experience in automating deployments and monitoring/alerting tasks (preferably Ansible).

•       Strong knowledge supporting High availability architecture with relevant experience in Oracle Application (Version R12.2.8), Oracle Database (Version 18c/19c RAC), Oracle Fusion Middleware products (version 12c: IDM/OAM/Access Gate, Portal, SOA Suite architecture, E-biz LDAP integration, Webcenter 12c).

•       Oracle Certification, preferably OCP

•       Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems

•      Experience in supporting High availability architecture with relevant experience in Hadoop technologies. Production implementation experience desired. (Cloudera Hadoop, Spark, etc.)

•     Must have strong working knowledge of Big Data components such as YARN, HDFS, HBase, Spark, etc.

•       Experience in automating deployments and monitoring/alerting tasks (preferably Ansible).

•       Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required

•       Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service.

•       Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. Strong exposure with Performance Tuning

•       Knowledge and understanding of the business strategy and use of back office applications.

•       Ability to adapt to multi-lingual and multicultural environment, additional language skills are a bonus.

•       Ability to handle conflicting priorities.
