Job Description

Support the Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the Air Import department while ensuring the timely and accurate movement of freight and delivering exceptional customer service. Serve as a role model for operational excellence, teamwork, and customer focus, helping drive department performance and employee development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth and timely shipment process flow from receipt of documents through final delivery.
  • Follow and promote compliance with customer SOPs, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into operational systems.
  • Monitor shipment activity and proactively address issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Support the Supervisor in allocating workloads and balancing team resources to meet operational demands.
  • Monitor workboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure service standards and productivity goals are achieved.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in responding to customer requests, quotations, and pricing inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct customer reviews and maintain accurate CRM documentation.
  • Monitor invoicing accuracy and BNP reports and assist with issue resolution as required.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to team members by sharing knowledge, coaching on best practices, and supporting employee development.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and a positive team environment.
  • Support the implementation of process improvements, system enhancements, and operational initiatives.
  • Communicate policy, system, and regulatory updates to the team.
  • Contribute to department productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Air Import operations and Expeditors processes
  • Customer-focused with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in Expeditors systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, including coaching or mentoring others
  • Minimum 2 years of industry-specific or equivalent operational experience
  • Hazardous Materials certification preferred
