Job Description

Job Summary:

Due to the continued growth of our South Asia practice, Tradewin is seeking an experienced Customs & International Trade professional for a full-time Managing Consultant position based in Bangkok, with a primary focus on Thailand. The successful candidate will provide advisory services on Customs and International Trade matters to global, regional, and local clients, including import/export regulations, export controls, Customs dispute resolution, valuation, HS classification, FTA management, disclosures, and AEO assessments. The role also involves managing projects for regional level consulting and operational support, supporting business growth initiatives, developing internal best practices and procedures, and performing routine administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advisory services to global, regional, and local clients on Customs and International Trade matters, including import/export regulations, export controls, customs valuation, HS classification, FTA management, customs dispute resolution, disclosures, and AEO assessments.
  • Analyze customs and trade-related data to support risk assessments, duty optimization, compliance reviews, audits, and supply chain security initiatives.
  • Research, interpret, and apply customs regulations, trade agreements, and government requirements to deliver practical and compliant solutions for clients.
  • Prepare high-quality written reports, technical advice, presentations, and client deliverables on customs and trade compliance matters.
  • Manage and coordinate consulting engagements and operational support projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, meetings, and proactive engagement.
  • Support business development activities by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and enhancing service offerings.
  • Assist in developing and implementing internal best practices, procedures, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with regional and global teams to deliver integrated solutions and exceptional client service.
  • Perform project management, administrative, and reporting duties to support efficient business operations.
  • Stay current on customs, trade compliance, and regulatory developments, and share relevant insights with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. A professional accreditation (e.g. customs broker’s license) will be viewed favourably;
  • 4-7 years of working experience in a related field, out of which at least 3 years should ideally comprise of consulting experience;
  • Advanced understanding of import/export regulations and practice;
  • Show good judgment, integrity, curiosity, vision, attitude & confidence;
  • Possess the ability to evaluate and articulate complex issues;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to learn;
  • Fluent in English; 2nd Asian language is considered an advantage
  • Proficiency with Microsoft® Word and Microsoft® Excel;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Experience or familiarity with trade compliance in Thailand ;
  • Experience or familiarity with trade compliance in the ASEAN region or another ASEAN country is an added advantage.
