Job Description

The Air Import Agent is responsible for the end‑to‑end coordination, processing, and monitoring of air import shipments, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost‑effective delivery while delivering best‑in‑class customer service. The role supports local department strategy through operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and proactive customer engagement, including operational support outside standard business hours where required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage air import shipments from origin to final delivery
  • Receive, verify, and process shipping documentation (HAWB/MAWB, invoices, packing lists, permits where applicable)
  • Monitor shipment milestones, track cargo, and proactively manage delays or exceptions
  • Liaise with airlines, origin offices, warehouses, customs service providers, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, airline requirements, and internal SOPs
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry within freight management systems
  • Provide regular shipment updates and high‑quality customer service
  • Support billing accuracy, cost control, and account reconciliation in collaboration with Finance
  • Prepare customer reports and support KPI performance tracking
  • Provide weekend, public holiday, and after‑hours operational support as scheduled

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements. This section may be tailored to suit the specific job role:

  • Sound knowledge of the global logistics and supply chain industry
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience within an international or global logistics environment (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a similar or related role will be a strong advantage
  • Proficient computer skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field will be advantageous
  • Fluency in English, with good written and verbal communication skills
