Job Description

At Expeditors, we’re looking for a District Sales Manager - Sweden to join our Swedish team and help us shape the future of logistics. Expeditors are growing in the Swedish market, and in this role you will be pivotal in setting the strategy and leading our established sales team in accelerating this growth. This position is based in Upplands-Väsby, where you’ll enjoy working from our welcoming office.

The District Sales Manager Sweden (DSM) leads our District Sales Program. By developing and supporting the District Sales team, the DSM ensures a consistent and effective execution of the program within our Swedish office. The DSM is responsible for driving the growth of all products and services in Sweden and fostering strong collaboration with our global network of 250+ office locations.

This position reports to the District Manager and has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Regional Manager, Sales & Account Management Nordics, based in Copenhagen. You will be part of the wider management team for Expeditors in Sweden.

 

Key Deliverables

These are the primary areas of focus for a District Sales Manager Sweden:

  • Create and maintain the vision and strategy for the District Sales Program
  • Assess market trends and communicate them to the District and Regional leadership teams
  • Maintain an effective Marketing approach aligned with our branding guidelines, to include consistent customer proposals and communication, as well as hosting regular customer events
  • Work with district and regional Product and Geo leaders to facilitate development of any product initiatives
  • Manage & Develop the Sales Department 
  • Create and manage the Sales Department budget
  • Meet regularly with prospective customers and current accounts to support development of new opportunities
  • Support Sales Executives with business opportunities and help them close business
  • Attend networking events and relevant industry events to promote Expeditors in the Swedish market
  • Ensure that the team is prepared to successfully transition all new business
  • Create and manage career development plans for Sales Operations and Sales Executives
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one discussions, coach sales team and monthly pipeline review
  • Continuous recruitment and onboarding of new sales executives where appropriate for market growth

 

Qualifications

To be the most effective in this position we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Strong written communication and analytical skills
  • Structured, organized and strong presentation skills
  • Management experience leading a team 
  • Ability to perform and meet KPI requirements
  • Comfortable leading customer sales calls and building relationship at all levels within complex enterprise customers
  • Ability to understand local market and key industries present in the Swedish market
  • Freight sales management experience or equivalent
  • Proven track record in business development
