Job Description

Main Responsibilities

1. Spot Quoting Operations (All Transport Modes)

  • Process spot quote requests for air, ocean, road, rail, and multimodal solutions from European origins to global destinations.
  • Analyze shipment requirements (dimensions, weight, routing, deadlines, special handling) and propose the most suitable transport mode and routing options.
  • Retrieve rates from internal tools and systems to build competitive, accurate quotes.
  • Ensure all spot quotes are created, updated, and closed in internal systems within the required deadlines.
  • Prioritize urgent requests and communicate proactively with branches and stakeholders.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of Europe-origin capabilities, transit times, carrier options, gateways, and constraints.
  • Follow all SOPs and pricing guidelines to ensure consistency and data quality.

2. Collaboration & Network Alignment

  • Work closely with European sub-regional quoting desks to understand local constraints, product capabilities, and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with global partner branches to ensure accurate end‑to‑end pricing and routing.
  • Maintain strong communication with European sub-regional quoting desks for rate updates, capacity constraints
  • Collaborate with European sub-regional quoting desks to support customer-specific quoting needs
  • Track and follow up on ad-hoc requests to ensure high responsiveness and customer satisfaction.

3. Profitability & Decision‑Making

  • Make informed decisions on routing, mode selection, and cost structures based on internal guidelines
  • Identify margin improvement opportunities or alternative routing solutions.
  • Escalate complex or high-impact quotes to supervisors or product teams where required.

4. Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain weekly/monthly reporting on quote volumes, win/loss performance, profitability, and turnaround time.
  • Analyze trends by mode, lane, product, and customer to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance speed, standardization, and data quality.
  • Support audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy of rates, surcharges, and operational details.

Qualifications

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of at least one transport mode (air/road/ocean/rail), with willingness to learn others.
  • Excellent analytical and commercial mindset.
  • Fast decision-making and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and high discipline in following SOPs.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced quoting environment.
  • Previous experience in cargo transportation industry or pricing is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Proficient in MS suite – including Outlook experience
  • Excel knowledge is an advantage
