Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and support with day-to-day quotations
  • Support product with checking local charges and agreement quotes to ensure we minimize potential branch losses.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the Transcon product including export and import database.
  • Plan and support with huddles and monthly meetings to discuss market intelligence and delegate workloads within the team.
  • Attend the weekly branch Sales meeting and facilitate discussions on Transcon with market updates and trends.
  • Actively develop business for department through active involvement in sales and retention process and close coordination with Sales & CRD departments.
  • Pro-actively provide pricing alternatives, routing solutions and technical assistance to clients through internal sales both regional and global.
  • Respond to requests for proposal, quotation or information timely and with market competitive pricing matching the scope of service required by the customer.
  • Prepare, execute, monitor and update at regular intervals the business plan for the department
  • Monitor and improve key departmental productivity indicators.
  • Instill and foster a climate of compliance at all times to regulations.  This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer policies/requirements.
  • Map and understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency to offer customers better solutions as well as controlling costs.
  • Ensure all customers standard operating procedures are documented, maintained and kept up to date in the SOP database
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Service Providers (airlines, trucking companies, and others)
  • Evaluate vendors at defined intervals per company policy, focusing on areas of possible improvement with corrective action plans where needed.
  • Know and understand your market in order to tailor solutions objectively and in relevance.
  • Strengthen collaboration efforts with all Products for an ability to offer best-in-class end-to-end solutions to customers.
  • Take an active role in the transition of new business/ updates to existing business.
  • Grow department Revenue in line with District budget target and management expectations.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.
  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department. 
  • Be involved and suggest system/process improvements.
  • Review and conduct staff appraisals and one to one meeting timely in line with the 3+1 Initiative
  • Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development.

Qualifications

  • University or equivalent business qualifications
  • Minimum 3years personnel management experience
  • Proven work experience in business development
  • Knowledge of Expeditors product and services
  • Knowledge of required Expeditors operating systems
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRMsoftware
  • Strong oral, written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytics skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Charismatic with an ability to connect
