Job Description
Scope of Position
Brokerage Lead along with Supervisor leads the team to achieve flawless operational execution, developing a strong and reliable team infrastructure, technical expertise, knowledgeable and promotable personnel while constantly driving efficiency, profitability and growth supporting our Vision and Mission Statement, making our promise real to all our employees and customers.
Key Deliverables
- Proactively monitor the following key metrics to achieve the expected results:
- Foster and enforces District and Department Excellence: All categories and departments above 90%, including:
- Employee Satisfaction
- Consistently monitor reports to ensure all team members complete 52 hours in training per year (4.33 per month).
- Ensure timely completion of mandatory trainings by all team members.
- For new employees, ensure the timely completion of CECS and Billing Certification.
- Operational Efficiency
- Perform consistently at the highest level (Product OPA Audit Result)
- Timely Execution (Truck Shipments) and Data:
- AUE – Less than 5%
- AUE to AUA within 48 Hours, min. 95% compliance
- Trade Compliance - 100%
- In bond Compliance-100%
Administration and Personnel Management
- Exemplify and Teach Our Culture, Mission and Goals.
- Ensure local policies are being followed by team members.
- Ensure that company controls, policies, procedures, processes are understood and complied with.
- Follow the 10 Critical Success Factor.
- Ensure all needs and tools required are available for your team to be successful in all areas.
- Engage with team members daily, help with conducting check-in meetings quarterly assisting them with ongoing feedback, coaching and mentoring.
- Build healthy cross-functional relationship and work environment, promote team spirit and cohesiveness in the team, department and corridor.
- Any employee concerns must be addressed and escalated immediately.
- Support all Employee Satisfaction initiatives and support all employee development programs.
- Manage and monitor employee’s working hours report, vacations and Overtime.
- Keep department clean and organized at all times. This requires constant and daily vigilance. Set the example in maintaining a neat, clean, organized and professional work area – both at your desk and in your group as a whole
- Identify and develop #2 and a backup.
- Own your self-development. Prepare, follow-up and execute on your personal development goals.
- Identify a Mentor inside of the company for further professional development.
Qualifications
To be the most effective in this position we are looking for the following skills and experience:
- Degree (preferred level): Associates degree in Business Administration or equivalent convention of education and experience .
- 2-3 Years’ experience in Exports/Customs Brokerage .
- CECS Certification
- Hands-on knowledge of Customs clearance function.
- Exhibit a leadership style that empowers, coaches, mentors, and fosters a cohesive team environment always prioritizing employee satisfaction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels written and oral communication and presentations in English and Spanish.
- Customer Satisfaction oriented.
- Ability to relate and influence clients, service providers and employees at all levels.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Problem solving and business analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to complete work within standard procedures, guidelines and office policies.
- Self-driven personality and good business sense are expected.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- English and Spanish proficiency.
