Job Description

Scope of Position:   loading/unloading trucks, verifying shipments, accurate piece counts, damages, documenting issues, putting freight away, taking photos, receiving in cargo, updating scripts and event codes quickly and efficiently.

Works with:  Warehouse Management, Product Management, Security Health and Safety, District Business Operations, Information Systems, Trade Compliance

Responsibilities: 

Facility Compliance

  • Ensure a safe and secure work environment, following all OSHA rules, as well as state and local laws.
  • Follow warehouse procedures and Expeditors Security & Safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and professional facility meeting all the warehouse excellence requirements. 
  • Ensure forklift checklists are filled out accurately and timely.
  • Protects company assets and ensures no damages.
  • Report any issues with equipment immediately.
  • Adhere to all company, country compliance standards (ITAR, DG, Wood pallets, TSA, CFS, GDP)
  • Report any issues or needs with inventory of packaging materials and supplies 
  • Ensures lift is maintained when in use and is plugged in properly at the end of the shift, including IS equipment.  Lifts will be cleaned up before end of the shift.

Operations and Quality 

  • Ensure that you process the shipments per our operational standards (OPS) and KPI expectations.
  • Ensures accurate and timely data entry into our system through receiving, scripts, loading, unloading etc.
  • Accurate weighing and dimensioning of cargo.
  • Accurate labeling of freight.
  • Accurate loading of freight.
  • Accurate put away locations
  • Attends huddles
  • Reads emails daily
  • Accurate and safe loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Be able to match up numbers and country codes.
  • Ensure ULD’s are built to aircraft size and constructed in a stable / efficient manner to ensure maximum ULD build (if applicable).
  • Ability to interact with the office to meet customer needs.
  • Understands the visitor policies and adheres to them by escorting drivers at all times.
  • Support the vision and goals of the warehouse.
  • Cross training on all processes of the warehouse including assisting with training
  • Abides by all Expeditors policies and procedures.
  • Support company, district and product goals.
  • Teaching our culture mission and goals.
  • Will report any security or H&S incident immediately.
  • Empowered to improve our processes. 
  • Participate in transitioning new customers as needed 
  • Whatever task that the leadership assigns

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:    

  • Education: high school diploma
  • Experience 2 years working in warehouse and is forklift certified. 
  • Knowledge/ Skills: 
    • Be able to read documents, manifests, delivery orders and follow their instructions,
    • Be able to seal and chock trucks
    • Be able to operate a sit down or stand up lift
    • Be able to stand most of the day
    • Be able to handle data entry and running macros and scripts.
    • Adaptable to change, reliable and self-motivated, organized.
    • Has a positive attitude and works well with others
    • Exemplifies the Behavioral Absolutes.
    • Pro-active, ability to foresee incidents and adhere to warehouse safety practices
    • Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
    • Must be able to shift priorities easily.
    • Must be able to lift at least 25 #, bend, and twist from time to time.
    • Must wear company uniform

 

Personal Development    

  • Must meet company standards of 52 hours of training per year.
  • Complete any training related the warehouse job training map that is assigned.
  • Completes mandatory training when required
  • Forklift certification required.

 Compensation per hour: $22.00
