Job Description

Warehouse Lead supports the Transcon Warehouse Supervisor in leading the department to achieving flawless operational execution, developing a strong and reliable team infrastructure, technical expertise, knowledgeable and promotable personnel while constantly driving efficiency, profitability and growth supporting our Vision and Mission statement, making our promise real to all our employees and customers.

Key Deliverables

•Proactively monitor the following key metrics to achieve the expected results:

Employee Satisfaction

•All team members to complete 52-hour training per year (4.33 per month).

•All team members to complete all mandatory training timely.

•Assigns duties and examines work ensuring conformance to policies and procedures.

•Participate on Employee Performance Evaluation annually and 1-1s quarterly with direct supervisor. Timely submit Employee Performance Reviews and 1-1 s.

Operation Efficiency

•Perform all operations in compliance with the Expeditors Operational Process Standards.

•Provide warehouse staff (along with operations team) with necessary documents and information needed to complete receiving, and to ship orders.

•Provide support in other miscellaneous activities/projects, proper documentation and research.

•Lead the team to ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations.

•Understand and guide on all warehouse transportation systems involved in our operation.

•Plan daily operation according to the forecast.

•Maintain the Yard pass accuracy to control equipment availability.

•Maintain all warehouse transportation areas clean and organized.

Quality

•Data Integrity – Ensure 100% events on time.

•Actively report to Supervisor any inconsistencies found.

•Participate in transitioning new customers as needed.  

•Manage, prevent, and resolve inventory, OSD, process and customer exceptions.

•Support with statistics and analysis of productivity and KPI performance

Administration and Personnel Management

•Exemplify and Teach Our Culture, Mission and Goals.

•Follow the 10 Critical Success Factors.

•Escalate to supervisor any department needs, taking into account future growth.

•Ensure that department is properly staffed, structured and organized and interview regularly.

•Ensure all needs and tools required are available for the Department to be successful in all areas.

•Engage with team members daily, conduct check-in meetings regularly assisting them with ongoing feedback, coaching and mentoring.

•Participate in check-in meetings with supervisor/manager regularly.

•Be visionary as it relates to managing staff, processes and tools to be able to handle volume spikes and local growth.

•Build healthy cross-functional relationship and work environment, promote team spirit and cohesiveness in the department.

•Ensure that team members meet their work schedules, and no Overtime is impacting the operation profitability unnecessarily without proper approval.

•Own your self-development. Prepare, follow-up and execute on your personal development goals.

•Develop department staff members, guide them and support them through their personal goals.

•Ensure that company controls, policies, procedures, processes, applications, tools, and systems are understood and implemented for self and the team.

•Escalate problems or concerns to Supervisor and Manager.

Finance

•Comply with all our policies, including the credit policy.

Security, Health and Safety

•Inform immediately the Branch’s Health and Safety representative any unsafe condition that could put employees at risk in the workplace as well as any incident or accident.

 

Qualifications

To be the most effective in this position we are looking for the following skills and experience:

•Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•1-3 years of experience leading teams in the logistic field or domestic transportation.

•Exhibit a leadership style that empowers, coaches, mentors, and fosters a cohesive team environment always prioritizing employee satisfaction.

•Customer Satisfaction oriented.

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels written and oral communication and presentations.

•Ability to relate and influence employees at all levels.

•Strong time management skills and attention to detail.

•Problem solving skills

•Project management skills, and ability to multitask.

•Ability to complete drive the team to work within standard procedures, guidelines and office policies.

•Self-driven personality and good business sense are expected.

•Strong computer skills, including knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

•English and Spanish fluency.
