Job Description
- Support network and customer enquiries in a timely manner by following internal procedures and by using the Project Cargo Pricing Tool.
- Pricing may include all modes of transport, but focus is on all type of ocean freight (Container-, RoRo-, MPP-Carriers).
- Quoting will also include a variety of pricing such as arranging origin / destination trucking and some other BreakBulk common services with approved service providers. (road permits, crating, lifting, surveying etc.).
- During execution to control and steer PES related communication between districts, customer, carriers, and service providers.
- Work closely with PES oversea teams to cover all aspects of any international project proposal and execution.
- Work on service provider and carrier relationships.
- At a later stage, be involved in customer development activities together with sales and/or account management.
- Support internal PES European team communication requirements and attend internal meetings as required.
- Continuously explore commercial and operational improvement opportunities.
This position can be based anywhere in the UK & Ireland
Qualifications
- Must: Solid forwarding working experience and education. Experience in ocean freight pricing.
- Helpful: Proficient with Project Cargo related experience, especially in quoting over-dimensional loads via land, barge, ocean (and air) modes of transport. Furthermore, knowledge in cargo crating, storage, brokerage, and transport insurance would be of advantage.
- Of advantage: Knowledge of road permits, import/export regulations, applications and procedures including surveys and any other governmental regulations applicable for OOG cargo.
- Of advantage: Established network of contacts with service providers, port operation and carriers in the region.
- Diplomacy and commercial awareness.
- Geographic and political understanding.
- Good computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English
