Job Description

Want to work in an international environment, focused on helping customers get their goods into Sweden?

As our new Customs Brokerage Agent, you will be part of our Swedish customs team. Together with your colleagues, your primary goal will be to ensure a smooth and timely freight process and clearance of our customers’ freight.

In our team, we make a point of always ensuring accurate data, compliance with all procedures and the best customer service possible – and not least keeping our heads cool when things heat up or become complex in a fast-paced environment. Your workday will be busy, and you will be interacting directly with our customers, customs authority, colleagues in our ocean, airfreight and trucking product teams as well as Expeditor colleagues at other locations.

Key responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will be to arranging our customers shipments and ensure a smooth and timely freight process flow for imports to Sweden, including:

  • Understand our customers’ procedures
  • Keeping customers’ standard operating procedures (SOPs) updated
  • Accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
  • Handle Track and Trace files and reporting
  • Accurate and timely customer and supplier invoicing
  • Transfer customs declaration information from documents, or other sources into the customs entry system to allow for the build of a valid customs declaration
  • Assist with verification and submission of customs declarations to customs authorities
  • Timely delivery and clearance of freight
  • Interacting with, maintaining and developing good relationships with customers ,suppliers and Customs  Authorities.
  • Timely communication with customers, suppliers and colleagues

Qualifications

  • Is a good communicator, including the ability to listen and communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Is a team player with effective interpersonal skills
  • Has a superior customer service and positive, proactive, can-do attitude
  • Has good IT-systems skills
  • Is fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Has previous experience and understanding of customs regulations and processes (advantage, not a requirement)

To comply with international and local laws and regulations, your employment with Expeditors is dependent on you passing an extended security check, including criminal history with the Swedish police.
