Job Description

Major Duties & Responsibilities 

  • To maintain a very good relationship with the local shipping lines and co-loaders. 
  • To requests rates from local carriers, as well as from destination/origin offices and compare the same with EI-Catapult, Share point and contract agreements. 
  • To revert on requests with quotes within 24 hours, if any delay in receipt of rates, an interim email to the sent to the respective person. 
  • Quotes to be prepared using the Quoting Database or Approved Quote Format as per company policy which is found on e.net. 
  • To keep good relationship with Sales, Customer Service and to collect feedback for each quote. 
  • Updating the Quote Log with feedback for Market analysis. 
  • If rejected, the correct reason must be update. 
  • To update the team regularly whenever a GRI, PSS, port congestion etc… is in place. 
  • To gather as much information as possible (carrier’s name, transit time, services used) to be able to quote better and get a high closing ratio. 
  • To run weekly report through the Quoting Database and analyze the information and keep department managers aware of the best carrier to use from the best port. 
  • To keep all quotes submitted confidential and never disclose the information to anyone outside the department. 
  • Quote to customers, to win the business. 
  • Reviewing Import / Export RFQ's + Drafting down questions & suggestions to RFQ Owners based on knowledge of Ocean Services and Local Market Practices. 
  • Weekly basis – analysis the quotes submitted and report to the Manager. 
  • Share feedback on origin / destination / carrier support required with Dept Manager. 
  • To make sure job is executed as per company guidelines and policies. 
  • To complete at least 52 Hours of training per year.
