Job Description

To take up this role, you will create technical solutions that require a wide range of capabilities including application development, scripting and automation, data analysis, etc. This role requires deep knowledge of Expeditors data, systems and processes and relentless pursuit to master tools, technologies and programming languages used to build impactful solutions, to drive financial results, operational excellence, business, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Proactively communicate with internal and external customers to understand their challenges and provide innovative technical solution accordingly
  • Plan, build and support configurable and scalable web applications.
  • Write scripts to streamline and automate operational processes etc.
  • Improve understanding of our current operations through research, analysis, and summarization of data
  • Coach and guide other developers on projects and within the developer network
  •  Adhere to all development standards and procedures (i.e. SDLC, Secure Development Processes)
  • Create and share reusable development artifacts
  • Ensure solutions are built to scale and use enterprise approved technologies
  • Cross-train team members on new tools and analytics procedures
  • Manage work within our standard project management tools
  • Conduct code reviews and other quality control activities
  • Collaborate with CHQ-IS teams to improve capabilities and ensure alignment on processes and standards
  • Create intuitive and detailed documentation for all projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in the area of information systems, data analytics or computer science
  • 5+ years programming experience
  • Rich experience on object-oriented analysis and design
  • Experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, Angular, HTML etc
  • Experience with database development (i.e. SQL, UML Diagrams)
  • Experience with DevOps best practices such as CI/CD (i.e. Git, GitLab)
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms (i.e.; Inetsoft, MS Power BI, Tableau etc.)
  • Good communication and presentation skills 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Experience with warehouse related systems such as TWMS etc

Additional Information

This position can be based in either Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shanghai.
