Job Description

Scope of Position:

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety and Facilities Manager to oversee all building-related activities. The Health and Safety and Facilities Manager will manage the districts H&S program and for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.

Duties and responsibilities

Facilities Manager

  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
  • Coordinates, oversees and/or manages repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial work.
  • Reviews work orders to ensure that assignments are completed. Responsible for facilities inspections and reports. Coordinates and manages moves, adds, and change activities.
  • Obtains and reviews prices for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects. Manages capital projects. Prepares capital project and operating budget and variance reports.
  • Manages vendor relationships and trains vendors on work order and billing procedures. Responsible for invoice processing and accuracy of cost center coding. Uses pc and/or for work order system, email, and training.
  • Provides process and procedure training. Conducts financial/business analysis including preparation of reports. Coordinates, oversees and/or manages repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping and janitorial work.
  • Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
  • Oversee all facilities in Atlanta's district.

Health & Safety Manager

  • Manage implementation of all applicable local compliance to Health and Safety procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Own reporting and management of workplace safety incidents and near misses, including root cause analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Facilitate the development of a health and safety conscious culture at the District.
  • Ensure 100% District compliance with all Operational Process Standards (Expeditors Health and Safety Standards).
  • Perform Risk Assessments of all facilities in order to identify hazards and mitigate risk to employees and visitors.
  • Compliance with local procedures (ex. PPE).
  • Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees.
  • Oversee all facilities in Atlanta's district.
  • Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations. 
  •  Training and education of warehouse and employees of safety related items.
     

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance and Health and Safety equivalent related functions
  • Excellent Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
  • Must be a well-organized, detail-oriented self-starter, be able to manage themselves and have a vision for their program
  • Strong procurement and negotiation skill
  • Must have strong speaking and presentation skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results

  • Direct to: Warehouse Manager
  • Indirect to: Branch Manager, District Manager
