Job Description
Scope of Position: Supervise all activities related to Expeditors Distribution Center
Expectations:
Create and maintain a structure at all levels. Work closely on the training and development of the warehouse and office Leads by providing empowerment and mentorship on a daily basis.
Ability to build and create relationships with Customers, understanding their needs and proactively communicating any challenges affecting the Operation. Availability to travel and visit Customers
Availability needed 24/7, Operations Supervisor needs to be able to respond for any critical situation, emergency or safety related incident for the Distribution Center
Able to communicate on English and Spanish.
Responsible for the development and Supervision of Customer Service representatives. Coordinating daily workflow and scheduling. Responsible of maintaining a productive staff, by actually participating on the hiring and training process.
Management of employee performance, promotions, wage increases and terminations.
Periodically audit and verification of processed, modify as needed to ensure all processes are compliance with Customs and with Customer requirements
Makes introductory contact with new accounts and maintain effective relationships with existing accounts. Coordinates new account onboarding gathering all necessary information and assigning accounts to Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).
Understanding and management of all Account Payables and Account receivables for the Distribution Center
Management on Volume fluctuations against headcount maintaining a healthy LPN cost per location.
Availability to assist the Operations Manager on continue improvement projects and analysis needed for the Department.
Operations Supervisor is the direct responsible to make sure all Inbound and Outbound activities are processed efficiently and meeting Customer SLAs and commitments. Adjustments on the process to be adjusted and implemented as needed to ensure Compliance with all Rules and Regulations and to ensure Customer Satisfaction
Basic knowledge of the FTZ environment maintaining a close communication with the FTZ and Brokerage teams
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
Continually maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers. Focus on customer service, sales and retention. Conduct Quality Management Reviews (QMRs) and retention calls with customers and vendors. Need to have the ability to prepare presentations for customers.
Schedule and present quarterly one on ones with all direct reports and a yearly performance evaluation to all employees. Need to record on PDC as per corporate requirements
Security – Work closely with the BSR to exemplify and maintain a safe and secure environment for all employees at all locations. Monitor all security standards are followed per OSHA requirements. Internally review checklists and Security measures in place are being followed at all levels.
Availability to support other locations and work under stressful situations, transitions and implementations of system and procedures.
Able to research and identify liability for any claims for damages submitted by our Customers.
Strong Inventory experience and familiarization of all Inventory procedures. Distribution Supervisor need to be able to maintain a healthy Inventory based on consistency on cycle counts.
Qualifications
Education (preferred level) Bachelor’s Degree
Experience (minimum level of direct experience in a similar position) 1 year
Knowledge/ Skills: Requires good supervisory and communication skills. Familiarity with personal computers and material handling equipment is essential. Strong decision-making and coaching skills.
Experience:
PC, MS OS, MS Office Software - strong MS Excel skills required
Strong knowledge on Expeditors systems; Edoc, Expo, CFIT, Manhattan
Customer Service skills to deal with branch personnel and external customers
Ability to work effectively across all levels of development, support and peers
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks to completion simultaneously.
Physical and System Inventory Controls experience
Distribution Experience it’s a must
