Job Description

A) Retention - Ensures that customer's cross-functional and geographical operational requirements are proactively identified and serviced. Orchestrates the complete service of all strategic and operational aspects of the account while utilizing our product, service and executive leaders.  Acts as a customer advocate while seeking service improvement opportunities, cost avoidance elements and overall cost savings.

B) Development - Implements strategies to assist global customer in attainment of their corporate growth and efficiency objectives.  Spearheads the implementation of programs with the customer to improve their supply chain capabilities as measured by cost to value ratios, value-add solutions and transformational network designs. Increases Expeditors' revenues and profitability through providing enhanced valued - added service. 

  • Expand value - added services to support customer global growth objectives and increase Expeditors' revenues.

  • Establish service expectations and measurements and consistently review performance for compliance and improvement.

  • Establish systems requirements and drive systems integration between the customer and Expeditors. 

  • Constantly seeking cost out and value add opportunities for their customers.

  • Create new business opportunities to grow with the customer by unwavering dedication to operational excellence and unsurpassed company alignment

  • Ensure the account is provided with innovative and proactive focus on continued improvement

  • Understand all aspects of our customers' business and integrate the business needs of all departments and functional groups within our offered solutions

  • Continuously develop their personal knowledge of Supply Chain processes, financial objectives and general business acumen to benefit their client and their personal careers.

  • Develop and continuously maintain Global Business Plan to identify account objectives, Expeditors' vision, key performance indicators, measures for success while identifying resources needed to reach these objectives.

  • Review and maintain procedures and processes that guide operations of the Expeditors' offices in support of the customer's global logistics needs, helping to establish new procedures as needed. 

  • Drive service improvements to create efficiency of operations and lower costs.

  • Rate management

  • Coordinate global and regional responses to customer's requests for rates and information.

  • Maintain and perform scheduled scorecard reviews of all critical areas of the relationship.

  • Provide assistance in resolution of claims and disputes; credit and collections.

  • Utilize, consult, inform, and incorporate Expeditors' management and staff where appropriate to develop and achieve account goals.

  • Establish and monitor performance standards for all activities. 

  • Travel, when necessary, to support the customer and our continued operational and strategic excellence.

Qualifications

University graduate with at least 8 years’ experience in global logistics field of which 1 year in account management.  Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and PC skills.  Experience in project management, development and documentation of business process and procedures.  Travelling may be required.
