Job Description

This role is responsible for leveraging strong technical knowledge to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s business by maintaining the different technologies and systems that form the IS Infrastructure. Additionally, the role is responsible for providing applications support and process automation (scripting), responding quickly to service interruptions and service requests to maintain operations efficiency.

Scope of position

  • Execute regular IS basic tasks
  • Monitor and ensure cyber network protection
  • Upkeep and ensure the system uptime and smooth running
  • Provide prompt user support and troubleshooting
  • Ensure adherence to the company's policies, and audit procedures
  • Provide support in business data analyses & all business reporting requests
  • Track and document user requirements requests via proper channels and platform
  • Display high ethical standard, best practices, and clear team communication of the company’s culture
  • Maintain regular close team communication with IS Manager and District Manager

Major responsibilities

  • Helpdesk Administration
  • Resolve common incidents and problems efficiently
  • Provide support for server administration, systems installation, upgrades, replacements and troubleshooting
  • Skill on troubleshooting and analyze the issue on the users requests and requirement.
  • Provide same day technical support for District operations and address incoming support queries
  • On call for afterhours IS issues
  • Support branch disaster recovery efforts as they occur
  • Conduct regular branch IS self-audits
  • Leverage and fully optimize existing systems and tools
  • Assist with the implementation of global, regional and branch IS projects
  • Test and validate the reporting issue/solution
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to design and define the reporting requirement
  • Support the digital transformation deployed by Global Business Operation, CHQ
  • Asset Management such as Purchasing, Shipping, Tracking, Maintenance

Operations Support

  • Have a fundamental understanding of Expeditors operational systems, including ETMS, EDOC, EDMS,etc
  • Understanding Data Communication protocol such FTP, SFTP, etc
  • Help to increase branch productivity by identifying processes that could be improved or automated and by developing an approved solution for them
  • Setting and modifying Internal reports
  • Desktop scripting
  • Implement IS related Projects that do not belong to a specific Product
  • Closely liaise operations with IS Manager to assist and support with Systems related issues

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Computer Science/Information Systems

Experience

  • Basic understanding of Windows Server (e.g., Active Directory, Remote Administration), Unix Systems, and EDI protocols
  • Microsoft Scripting knowledge (e.g., Java,PowerShell, Command Line Scripting)
  • Strong PC software skills including Windows and related software applications (SQL, Excel, Visio, Exchange, SharePoint etc.)
  • Basic PC troubleshooting, maintenance, development and deployment skills
  • Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN)
  • Provides data & reporting infrastructure support
