Job Description

Expeditors is implementing Agile and the Scaled Agile Framework for the enterprise (SAFe). Our Information Services and Business units are partnering on this journey together.

As an Agile Coach you will play a key role in implementing and sustaining the transformation. You will acquire the skills to become a certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) and effectively apply the principles and practices of SAFe, to include organizing, training, and coaching Agile teams. You will work alongside another SPC to implement, sustain and support all aspects of Agile and SAFe for both IS and Business. You will combine your knowledge of Agile and SAFe with an intrinsic motivation to improve the company’s software and systems development processes with the goal of value delivery to our customers. As an SPC you will be engaged in all aspects of the SAFe to ensure our application of the framework is consistent. Establishing metrics is a key component of an implementation and you will help define and capture metrics for reporting. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Assess, plan, and drive the continued implementation of Agile and SAFe
  • Provide training and coaching of scrum teams in all aspects of scrum (daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings, backlog grooming, daily routines, self-organization, collaboration, managing flow, calculating velocity, limiting work in progress, etc.)
  • Assess the maturity of the teams and organization and coach to higher levels of maturity
  • Coach Agile Release Trains to build and maintain a vision, roadmap, and backlog
  • Review current agile processes and drive process improvements
  • Remain informed about industry trends and best practices concerning agile methodologies and advance those best practices in the organization where appropriate

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and standards
  • Served as a team member, Scrum Master, or Product Owner on an Agile/Scrum team
  • Familiar with Scrum and Kanban practices
  • Participated in a PI Planning event and Inspect & Adapt
  • Familiarity with the different Levels of SAFe (Essential, Portfolio, Large Solution, and Full)
