A Systems Analyst with the Enterprise Monitoring team, you’ll be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of monitoring and performance management solutions. The Enterprise Monitoring team is part of the IT Operations Management department, maintaining reliability and performance standards for our global systems. 

We are looking for technically minded individuals with the ability to learn rapidly and work aggressively to provide time-sensitive monitoring solutions in this fast-paced industry. 

Role Responsibilities

• Manage requests for monitoring services from the IS Organization including new implementations, enhancements to existing monitors, customized solutions and analysis.
• Support and maintain a high performing, highly available monitoring environment, combining Big Brother, RTView, CA APM, CA Network Monitoring suite, LogRhythm, and the Elastic Stack.
• Assist development and support teams in conducting triage and incident management with collection and analysis of performance metrics.
• Deliver training to all stakeholders on the use of monitoring in application performance management and incident management.
• Engage with all stakeholders on process integration with the monitoring systems. 
• Work closely with development and support teams to gather monitoring and performance requirement.
• Contribute to the research and assessment of industry standards in the areas of application performance management, business service management, infrastructure monitoring, predictive analytics and event correlation.

Minimum Qualifications 

• Firm understanding of Unix environments (RHEL, Solaris).
• Comfortable working on Windows or UNIX command lines.
• Knowledge of at least one major object-oriented programming language or scripting language.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems.
• Comfortable working with large, cross-functional projects and emergency triage situations.
• Passion for researching problems and implementing technological solutions.
• Demonstrate superior communication skills with ability to seamlessly operate at all levels of the organization.

Desired Qualifications

• 1+ years as Unix system administrator or related careers.
• 1+ years SQL experience.
• 1+ years software development experience.
• Strong understanding of basic network concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong working knowledge of Bash, Perl, VBScript, and/or Java.
• Experience performing business analysis tasks.
• Exposure to SL RTView, Elastic Stack, LogRhythm, CA Network Monitoring tools, and/or CA APM.
• Experience researching and resolving complex application performance issues, preferably with Java.
• Ability to correlate infrastructure health data with application data during triage.
• Strong understanding of Java Virtual Machine (JVM) configurations and operation including JMX and mBeans.
• Experience creating monitors, dashboards or reports to present complex data in consumable formats.
• Experience developing integrations between third party tools and custom solutions.
