Job Description

The Systems Engineer plays a key role in a cross-functional agile development team, and is responsible for the design, support, and production of our Enterprise Monitoring systems, applications, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, collaborative team player, and problem solver. 

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues, developing monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and configuration, implementing the fix for in-house code, and tracking and resolving technical challenges. This role will work closely with other application teams to extract system data to allow to support their efforts to diagnose and reduce downtime, increase system availability, and overall performance. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years professional software development, systems engineering, and technical support experience
  • Experience with Bash, Python, Perl, or other scripting languages
  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, or Windows operating systems 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Solid understanding of large scale applications, network architectures, and monitoring tools

Desired Qualifications:

  • Object-oriented analysis and design (Java)
  • Experience working within an SAFe/Agile development framework
  • Experience with managing, installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-level systems and infrastructure
  • Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible or Chef
  • Understanding of design scalability, performance, and reliability 
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field or comparable work experience
  • Desire to or experience with mentoring others
