The Senior Developer in Test serves as a key role on a collaborative project team. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• The design, development and maintenance of  complex automation and custom test tools. This ensures the quality of our enterprise-scale business systems

• Establishing an automation test coverage strategy that supports the logistics system design specifications and the implementation of systems throughout the entire software development life cycle

• An awareness of evolving technologies in use by other teams at Expeditors and in the technology industry as a whole

• Excellent technical and interpersonal skills to lead, coach and mentor other project team members in order to execute the strategy

Essential Experience:

• Strong technical leadership in designing and implementing test automation

• Experience with developing test tools & test automation from scratch

• Demonstrated ability with Object-oriented design and coding skills (Java)

• Experience with scripting in one or more languages

• Develop and support web-based, service-based architectures and command line interfaces

• Customer service-oriented attitude and top-notch time management

• Proficient in driving technical and process improvements
  
  

Preferred Experience:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent job related experience

• Experience with Eclipse IDE and various plug-ins, Subversion, Maven, Nexus, Jenkins and Chef

• Operating systems include Windows/UNIX/Linux systems

• Experience leading a team in an agile environment with continuous test-driven practices

• Experience mentoring other Developers In Test and Quality Assurance Engineers

• Experience in defining strategies for load and performance testing

• Working knowledge of common industry testing tools (Selenium/WebDriver, Cucumber, Jmeter, SOAtest, SoapUI)

• Understanding of the transportation/global logistics industry
