Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Application support engineer to join our L2 Application Support Team within the Technology Operations Department. You will play a key role in the operation and maintenance of applications and infrastructure for toll collection systems. You should be willing to learn and understand things in detail. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, solve issues, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, optimize application performance, and ensure security best practices. A successful candidate will have a background in various application support with overlap to DevOps, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues of application running in AKS and provide timely and effective support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, QA, and infrastructure, to help design, build, and maintain a robust and scalable application infrastructure.
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines (Azure), ensuring the smooth delivery of software updates and releases.
  • Optimize application performance, ensuring high availability and reliability, and continuously refining processes for efficiency.
  • Closely collaborate with 24/7 on-call support team for application business continuity and support during critical outages and incidents.
  • Contribute to the documentation of processes, procedures, and technical configurations for the application environment.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements, recommending improvements and adopting new technologies as appropriate.

Qualifications

 

  • Experience in system administration, application support, DevOps or a similar role.
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD tools and concepts (e.g., Azure Pipelines, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of any scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • General knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and their services.
  • Basic knowledge of exchange protocols and tools (REST, SOAP, Apache Kafka).
  • Experience with logging/monitoring tools is an advantage (Prometheus, Elastic, Zabbix)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in English. Advance Czech/Slovak is a plus.
