The Regional Operational Excellence Team is launching a transformative digitalization initiative to optimize laboratories operations, streamline testing workflows, and drive data-backed decision-making. We are seeking a highly analytical IT Specialist & Data Analyst to serve as the technological engine of our OpEx team. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between operational processes and digital solutions by architecting automated workflows, leveraging Microsoft 365/Power Platform tools, and building bespoke internal web/desktop applications to modernize laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Process Digitalization:

• Collaborate with the OpEx Manager and Lab Managers to map, analyze, and re-engineer laboratory operational workflows.
• Identify manual bottlenecks, redundant data entry, and paper-based tracking, replacing them with automated digital systems.
• Develop lightweight custom internal web applications, low-code tools, and forms tailored to laboratory testing schedules, sample tracking, and equipment maintenance.
• Internal Software & Tool Integration: Build, customize, and maintain internal web utilities/interfaces bridge gaps between existing LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and team dashboards.

2. MS365 & Power Platform Solutions Architecture

• Design, build, and deploy automated end-to-end workflows using Microsoft Power Automate (Cloud and Desktop RPA Flows).
• Create custom low-code business applications using Power Apps (Canvas & Model-driven) integrated with Microsoft Dataverse, SharePoint, and SQL databases.
• Establish automated notifications, approval chains, and document control systems across multi-site laboratory teams.

3. AI Workflow Integration:

• Extended MS365/Power Platform duties to include integrating Copilot Studio AI agents into Power Apps, SharePoint, and Teams for automated lab query handling and data extraction.
• AI Support & Training: Training lab staff on leveraging MS Copilot features to enhance daily operational productivity.

4. Data Analytics, BI & Reporting:

• Construct, maintain, and publish interactive dashboards in Power BI to monitor Lab Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), sample turnaround time (TAT), throughput, and resource utilization.
• Perform statistical data analysis and predictive modeling to identify operational trends, quality control variations, and cost optimization opportunities.
• Maintain data integrity, establishing robust ETL data pipelines connecting lab instruments, databases, and reporting layers.

5. Continuous Improvement & Support:

• Provide technical support, governance, and system training to laboratory staff.
• Maintain technical documentation, system architecture logs, user guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all developed solutions.

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or related technical disciplines.

2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, process automation, or custom software development, preferably within manufacturing, laboratory, healthcare, or operational environments.

• AI & Microsoft Copilot Mastery: Explicitly added as a primary mandatory skill alongside MS365 & Power Automate. Requires proven expertise in leveraging Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and AI Builder to build custom AI prompts, autonomous agents, and AI-assisted automation into business workflows.
• Database & Querying Skills: Proficiency in SQL (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and experience writing complex queries, data transformations, and data modeling.
• Application Development: Solid foundation in web/software development (Python, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript) for building custom internal web tools.
• Data Analytics & BI: Proficient in DAX, Power Query (M), Python (Pandas/NumPy), for data analysis and metric calculations.

Domain & Soft Skills (Nice-to-Have / Behavioral):

• Knowledge of laboratory workflows, LIMS, ISO 17025 compliance, or quality control metrics is a major advantage.
• Strong Lean Six Sigma / Operational Excellence mindset (problem-solving, root cause analysis, waste reduction).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex IT technical terms into actionable operational solutions for non-technical lab staff.
