Job Description
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and performance of the environmental testing laboratory. This position oversees laboratory personnel, ensures compliance with quality and regulatory requirements, manages laboratory operations, and supports business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wet chemistry and/or heavy metals analysis, including experience with ICP-MS and related instrumentation.
- Manage daily laboratory operations and personnel.
- Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate laboratory staff.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with quality systems, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee analytical testing activities for wet chemistry and heavy metals departments.
- Maintain productivity, turnaround times, and data quality standards.
- Monitor laboratory performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution.
- Support instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, including ICP-MS and wet chemistry instrumentation.
- Collaborate with clients, operations leadership, and support departments.
- Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related scientific discipline.
- 2-5 years of laboratory management or supervisory experience.
- Experience with environmental testing laboratories.
- Experience with wet chemistry and/or heavy metals analysis.
- Experience with ICP-MS instrumentation and laboratory operations.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Experience in an accredited environmental laboratory
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
