Job Description
The Head of Agroscience Services Field Europe leads the CRO industry’s largest field station network in Europe across 10 countries, 30–40 sites and ~300 employees. The role drives strategic transformation, operational excellence and growth in an evolving agroscience market. This position is a key leadership role within Eurofins Agroscience Services, offering substantial autonomy and the mandate to accelerate innovation, integration, and performance.
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Define and execute the European Agroscience Services Field strategy.
- Drive top‑line growth and market share expansion, with a strong focus on strategic and key accounts.
- Position and evolve the service portfolio to anticipate regulatory changes, customer needs, and market trends.
- Partner with Company Presidents, Boards, and Executive Management Teams to set long‑term objectives, scientific direction, and commercial priorities.
Operational & P&L Ownership
- Maintain full accountability for P&L performance, including revenue growth, margin, cost control, and capital discipline.
- Translate commercial strategy into concrete operational levers, ensuring efficient, scalable, and profitable service delivery across laboratories.
- Identify and drive structural performance improvements, combining entrepreneurial mindset with operational discipline.
People & Leadership
- Ensure the business is led by high‑calibre leaders; develop, coach, and succession‑plan key management talent.
- Foster open communication, accountability, and performance culture across countries and sites.
Qualifications
- University degree (MSc) in agriculture or related field; MBA is an advantage
- Over 10 years of experience successfully leading teams and managing full P&L responsibility
- Commercial skills and customer experience (preferably in agricultural services)
- Fluent English at negotiation level (spoken & written)
- Key personal competencies: transformational leadership, maturity, integrity, organization-first mindset
- Intercultural competence and proven experience working within international networks and cross-cultural environments
- Transparent, inclusive leadership style; strong listening and interpersonal skills; able to navigate complex environments
- Challenges status quo constructively and inspires creativity and engagement
- Able to attract, unite, and retain people around shared values
- Deep understanding of agriculture (“comfortable in rubber boots”) and able to represent the business effectively at headquarters
- Based near one of the sites; willingness to travel 40–60% (2–3 days/week)
- Experience in the seed business is advantageous (strategic focus area)
