Job Description

Mon - Fri (9am - 5:30pm) 

  • Organizing incoming and outgoing shipments including receiving, verifying, proper storage, and record keeping of shipments & equipment. Preparing items for shipment. Duties include: preparing ARF, assembling, temping, coding, addressing, stamping, and shipping product, equipment or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying temping, coding and recording incoming product, equipment, or material
  • Have knowledge of 49 CFR part 172 and all of its entities, IATA Dangerous Goods, DOT hazardous materials.
  • Prepares documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
  • Verify and document incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, occurring during scheduled shift
  • Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, temperatures, and damages, for reporting, accounting, inventory, and recordkeeping purposes
  • Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as a UPS/FEDEX computer, and postage meter.
  • Assist with running of errands, procurement pickups, and deliveries as needed (inside of Eurofins)
  • Perform the procedures for sample receipt, sorting, and line up according to the guidelines of Eurofins Scientific.
  • Proficient in performing the duties of two (2) platforms.
  •  Maintain storage of retained samples according to the guidelines of Eurofins Scientific
  • Maintain neat and accurate record system and assist with filing as directed.

  • Manage time in a manner that ensures a high degree of productivity
  • Ensure that proprietary methodologies are not disclosed to non-employees except as approved in writing by the   Laboratory Director or appointed designate.
  • Follow all guidelines and procedures of Eurofins Food Chemistry
  • Follow all guidelines and procedures of Eurofins Scientific.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required. 

  • Shipping Knowledge
  • Certified in IATA Dangerous Goods
  • Knowledge of DOT Hazardous Materials

Excellent interpersonal, attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

Excellent communication skills. 

Responsive, independent problem solver and action oriented

High School Degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent certificate from a certified institution; one to two years of related experience and/or training.

Additional preferences:

Safe Serve certified preferred.

Ability to work in a warehouse environment coordinating a variety of required projects and tasks.

Food handling and computer skills preferred

  • Expected to understand the process for handling hazardous wastes and receive on-the-job training for handling specific waste types in their job area.
