Job Description
Our QC Analyst, Cell Core are on the front line, to ensure the QC Bioassays can be performed. This role will perform all tasks necessary to maintain the multiple cell lines required for clinical bioassay testing. They will also cross train and support QC Analytical Lab operations and testing, as needed. It is expected that approximately the first 6-18 months of this role will be focused on Cell Core responsibilities before changing to primarily focus on lab operations.
Cell Core Responsibilities:
- Maintains both suspension and adherent mammalian cell lines.
- Supports any thawing or banking activities for clinical cell lines.
- Preparation of required media for cell lines.
- Follow and comply with all governing standard operating procedures.
- Completes laboratory documentation and reviews logbook data.
- Calibrates or verifies calibration of instruments/devices prior to use.
- Complies with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements.
- Participates in required training activities.
- Maintains laboratory supplies.
- Interacts with outside customers or functional peer groups
Lab Operations Responsibilities:
- Maintaining laboratory supplies, reagents inventory, and preparation of media
- Safe handling and movement of compressed gases and/or cryogenic liquids.
- Cleaning and monitoring of controlled temperature units, fume hoods, and biological safety cabinets (BSC)
- Use of electronic management and tracking systems for monitoring and documenting routine maintenance and calibration status of laboratory equipment.
- Use of electronic systems to initiate and coordinate workflows between multiple teams/departments
- Management of paper lab notebook and logbook requests, updates, and reconciliation
- Completion of all work and documentation following Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Assists in coordination and execution of reoccurring equipment maintenance and calibrations.
- Participates in overtime and weekend schedule as required.
- Cleaning, organization, and labeling of lab spaces in accordance with effective procedures.
- Complete all safety and procedural trainings and re-trainings.
- Complete tasks listed above in laboratory areas that handle potent chemical compounds.
- Support of laboratory area located on multiple sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry or other science related degree concentration, or equivalent directly related experience.
- Experience with handling of mammalian cell lines.
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
- A strong work ethic and ability to meet physical demands including, but not limited to, routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs. or more, walking and standing for extended periods of time, pushing or pulling carts and equipment and bending down or reaching for supplies.
- Ability to independently commute between different site locations (< 5 miles between sites)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to learn new processes, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Additional Information
Position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
Pay range: $22.50 - $24.00
