Job Description
Overall Objectives
The ADMS DevOps Engineer ensures the reliable deployment and operational continuity of ADMS, a regional web-based CustomerRelationship Management (CRM) application supporting Eurofins laboratory operations worldwide. Working within a globallydistributed team of four, the ADMS DevOps Engineer manages and deploys solutions across cloud and on-premises environmentsusing Platform as a Service (PaaS) and DevOps tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Terraform,and Terraform Cloud. The ADMS DevOps Engineer contributes to end-to-end application lifecycle management, supports Level 3 (L3)production operations, and collaborates with the Platform Delivery Team and Application Development Team under a Service-OrientedArchitecture (SOA) model, following DevOps and Kanban methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- You contribute to end-to-end application lifecycle management, covering configuration management, build, release, anddeployment processes for ADMS applications.
- You follow DevOps and Kanban methodologies, selecting and executing technical tasks from the backlog in alignment with established priorities.
- You implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- You configure and deploy applications and services across cloud and on-premises environments, using virtual machines, containerization tools such as Docker, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- You design, implement, and maintain automation scripts to reduce manual intervention and improve DevOps task efficiency.
- You write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in adherence to best practices, team coding standards, and guidelines.
- You share technical knowledge with team members through documentation, guidelines, workshops, and mentoring, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- You provide timely resolution to production issues as a member of the ADMS Level 3 (L3) Support Team, including periodic and emergency support.
- You initiate and participate in collective working sessions with the team and external stakeholders, including pair programming with the Platform Delivery Team and Application Development Team.
- You stay current on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in software development and DevOps.
Other Assignments
- You ensure regular follow-up with the Team Manager, providing updates as needed or upon request.
- You acquire a working knowledge of Eurofins Information Systems (EurIS), beginning with ADMS, including its underlying concepts, models, and the team's processes and practices.
- You continuously deepen knowledge of assigned systems, focusing on the most critical needs of the role.
- You build effective working relationships with IT and non-IT stakeholders within Eurofins to support cooperation and clear communication.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
- You have a minimum of three years of experience in a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role.
- You have working knowledge of version control systems such as Git, and collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
- You have working knowledge of on-premises and cloud infrastructure administration, including Azure, Amazon Web Services(AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- You have working knowledge of deployment tools and pipelines, including Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy, and best practices in configuration management database (CMDB) administration.
- You are able to follow, create, and update Service Operational Procedures, covering procurement, installation, monitoring, and support processes.
- You have working knowledge of data management and database administration, including Structured Query Language (SQL)and Not Only SQL (NoSQL) systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- You demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.
- You communicate fluently in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- You bring prior experience in Enterprise DevOps environments and/or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly in migration projects.
- You have thorough knowledge of on-premises and cloud infrastructure administration, with preference for Azure.
- You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and containerization tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- You have advanced coding or software development skills, particularly in .NET.
- You have conversational proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Portuguese, French, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or Hindi.
