Job Description

As Manager Project Management, you are responsible for leading and developing the Project Management team while driving improvements in project management processes, planning, communication, and operational performance. You facilitate the continued growth of the department, increase effectiveness of the organization and prepare the organization for the transition to our new facility where multiple Business Units will be located.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Leading, coaching and developing the Project Management team.
  • Improving and standardizing project management processes, such as scoping, project monitoring, communication, reporting mechanisms.
  • Develop and maintain forecasting processes for project demand.
  • Implement structured capacity planning in collaboration with laboratory management.
  • Establish clear prioritization processes for routine and non-routine activities.
  • The role also supports in all regular project management activities within the department, including project intake, scoping, planning, forecasting, prioritization, customer communication, reporting, and project execution oversight.

A key objective of the role is to create a scalable and future-proof Project Management organization that supports efficient project execution, customer satisfaction, business growth, and effective collaboration across departments and Business Units.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management, preferably within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, CDMO, or laboratory environment.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Experience with process improvement, forecasting, and capacity planning.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of GMP-regulated environments is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and change management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-focused, results-oriented, and capable of balancing strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Located in the Netherlands with a valid work permit.

Duration

This is initially a one-year assignment at Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Leiden. This assignment may be extended and potentially lead to a permanent position. This is not predetermined yet.
