Eurofins Professional Scientific Service® (PSS) is a global insourcing solution for our customers. Together with the customer, we define a project for the required services that our Eurofins employees should provide at the customer's location. During the ongoing project, the responsibility for project management, the previously defined laboratory services and the deployment of our employees in this project lies with Eurofins PSS.

As a Scientist, you will join a Eurofins PSS team supporting process development activities in plasma-derived biopharmaceuticals at a client site in Bern.

You will contribute to the development and optimization of protein fractionation processes, working within a structured scientific service environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role combines hands-on experimental work with data analysis and scientific evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate laboratory experiments related to process development using scale-down models
• Contribute to development and optimization of protein fractionation and purification processes
• Perform advanced data analysis and interpret experimental results to support decision-making and continuous improvement
• Maintain and optimize databases, ensuring data quality, integrity, traceability, and generation of meaningful insights to support process changes, investigations, and lifecycle management activities
• Prepare protocols, reports, and technical documentation
• Support scale-up activities and process transfer to the pilot plant
• Collaborate with Eurofins PSS team members and client stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and documentation standards

• MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or similar
• Experience in protein purification (ÄKTA chromatography system) and process development
• Hands-on laboratory experience in bioprocessing and filtration (filter press systems)
• Strong analytical and data evaluation skills
• Familiarity with DoE and statistical tools (e.g., JMP) is an advantage
• Good scientific report writing and presentation skills
• Structured and proactive working style
• Fluent in English and German language skills would be an advantage
