Job Description

We are seeking a skilled LC-MS/MS Scientist to support peptide characterization and modification analysis using high-resolution mass spectrometry. This role is focused on method development, workflow optimization, and data interpretation to support advanced molecular characterization efforts. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in peptide mapping and fragmentation techniques within a laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and execute accurate-mass LC–MS/MS workflows for peptide sequence confirmation and characterization of peptide modifications
  • Apply high-resolution MS and MS/MS fragmentation techniques, including CID, HCD, and ETD, to enable confident identification and site localization of peptide modifications and isomers
  • Optimize sample preparation and enzymatic digestion conditions to improve detection and characterization of low-abundance modifications
  • Analyze and interpret complex mass spectrometry datasets using industry-standard software tools
  • Advance and refine LC-MS/MS methods to support broader molecular characterization initiatives
  • Document experimental procedures, analytical results, and interpretations clearly and in accordance with best practices
  • Communicate findings effectively to cross-functional project teams

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with LC-MS/MS peptide identification and modification analysis, including CID, HCD, and ETD
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • BS (5–8 yrs), MS (3–6 yrs), or PhD (0–2 yrs) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with LC-MS/MS method development and optimization
  • Familiarity with proteomics or peptide data analysis software
  • Experience in a GMP or regulated environment
  • Knowledge of LIMS and data management systems

Additional Information

The position is Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Andover, MA, are encouraged to apply.
