Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to join our Formulation Development team. In this role, you will support analytical and formulation studies for RNA–lipid nanoparticle (RNA‑LNP) programs and contribute to day‑to‑day laboratory operations. This position is hands‑on and highly collaborative, with opportunities to mentor junior team members and help maintain a positive, productive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory & Technical Work

  • Perform analytical testing on RNA‑LNP formulations using techniques such as HPLC, Solo‑VPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HI‑AC, and viscosity measurements.
  • Support formulation preparation for proteins, buffers, and RNA‑based materials.
  • Follow established methods, protocols, and documentation practices (GLP; electronic lab notebook).
  • Assist with general lab organization, cleanliness, and equipment upkeep.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Partner with scientists on experiment execution and sample testing.
  • Share knowledge and help train new team members on routine lab tasks or instrumentation.
  • Help maintain a positive team environment by supporting communication, workflow efficiency, and day‑to‑day coordination.

Quality & Operations

  • Ensure all work meets high standards for accuracy, data integrity, and safety.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in workflow, documentation, and lab operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S. in biological sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field with 3–4 years of relevant lab experience
    OR M.S. with 1–2 years of experience.
  • Experience with formulation, analytical testing, or process development for genetic modalities (siRNA, mRNA, LNPs, etc.).
  • Hands‑on proficiency with chromatography/separation techniques, especially HPLC.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to learn quickly, troubleshoot methods or instruments, and maintain accurate records.

Preferred

  • Experience working with in vitro assays, peptides, monoclonal antibodies, or other biologics.
  • Prior experience training or supporting other team members.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.
