Eurofins Agro Testing is an accredited agricultural testing laboratory that specialises in Soil, Plant and Water testing with laboratories located in Hindmarsh South Australia, Belmont Western Australia and Murarrie Queensland. Our client base includes farmers, agronomists, rural retailers and research organisations with our samples originating from all across Australia.
Job Description
- Full time position
- Operating hours Monday to Friday Day Shift but may require some afternoon shift work in peak period only.
- Immediate Start
- 37.5hrs/wk hourly rate $30.26 + super, leave accrual
- Based in Murarrie Queensland
As a Sample Preparation Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring all samples are appropriately receipted, sorted, prepared and packaged for transport in a timely manner to achieve operational, customer and quality requirements.
The role will focus on:
- Preparing labelling and processing all incoming samples
- Emailing and liaising with clients when discrepancies with paperwork or samples arise
- Recording in CRM sample/client information
- Preparing soils, plant tissue, water and other sample types
- Preparing samples to be forwarded to external laboratories
- Logging samples into LIMS system
- Recording weights when required
- Booking courier services and preparing samples for transport
- Working in the fast-paced sample receipt and preparation area
- Loading sample into trays and trolleys for the sample drying process
- Grinding of soils & plant samples as well as accurately splitting soil samples (when required)
- Ensuring samples are completed in a timely manner and correct methods, procedures and work instructions are adhered to
- Able to complete all quality control records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of their work area and processes as well as the overall efficiency and effectiveness of laboratory operations
Qualifications
What we are looking for in individuals to join our team
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Competent in the use of Microsoft and data based software
- Ability to follow procedures with absolute attention to detail
- Willing to work individually and as part of a team with emphasis on quality and safety
- Excellent numeracy, written and oral communication skills
- Great organisational skills and ability to multi-task
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks, grinding of samples and potentially lifting up to 7kg repetitively
Experience in a commercial sample preparation laboratory would be advantageous but not a requirement to be successful in this role.
