Senior Quality Officer

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System, building relationships with our Heads of Departments, and colleagues in Eurofins Biomnis, Eurofins Pathology, Clinical Genetics, and Eurofins Lablink.

 

Specific Tasks

  • Support the existing Quality team and maintain the company’s quality management system (QMS).
  • Ensuring, in conjunction with the Quality team, that the laboratory and Logistics division operates within the company’s quality management systems to meet the requirements of ISO15189 accreditation and ISO9001 certification, the Eurofins Group policies and any relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and participate in external audits (e.g. assessment bodies, clients) as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Ensuring, in conjunction with the Quality team, strict adherence to the internally devised audit schedule.
  • Preparation and submission of documentation to the external bodies in advance of external audits e.g. INAB, NSAI. Preparation and submission of documentation as clearance to non-conformities raised within the agreed timeframe.
  • Provide quality direction, oversight and continual improvement for new and existing processes and systems ensuring implementation activities are robust and timely.
  • Carry out training on the QMS and Q-Pulse for new and existing employees, as required.
  • Assist in the development and tracking of critical quality processes such as CAPA, complaints, internal/external audit findings, and non-conforming reports.
  • Review and approval of assay and equipment verifications in line with the regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development, management, maintenance and analysis of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Assist in the creation, review and approval of internal quality documents as per company’s procedures for document control.
  • Assist in the maintenance of current modules and the development of additional modules on Q-Pulse.
  • Participate in process / continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support to the existing Quality team with client requests.
  • Organise and carry out meetings with the various departments as assigned by the QA Manager. In conjunction with the quality manager, organise and assist the various departments in the preparation of the Annual Management Review Meetings and preparation for external audits.
  • Perform other Quality System duties and involvement in any other projects relating to standard requirements as assigned by the QA Manager.
  • Use of the Laboratory Information Management Systems in place in the laboratory.
  • To actively support the development / implementation of continuous improvement activities and other quality activities that may be assigned as required.
  • Participate and lead as necessary change management in line with the defined procedures.
  • Encourage and support the sharing of learning within the Quality team.

Hours per week: 35

Please note this is not a HYBRID role, this role will be based on site in Sandyford, Dublin 18

Qualifications

Education

  • A 3rd level qualification in Quality Assurance and/or a science discipline relevant to medical testing laboratories.

Experience

  • This role requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 4 years Quality Assurance experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory or similar role. A combination of medical laboratory working experience, quality assurance experience, and educational background that may otherwise satisfy the requirements of the role will be considered.
  • A self-starter and result-focused, the successful candidate will have a strong, contemporary knowledge of ISO15189 accreditation and ISO9001 certification.
  • Demonstrated 2 years’ experience in CAPA management, internal audits, verification of examination methods requirements, and risk management.
  • Have a keen awareness of INAB requirements for medical testing laboratories accredited to ISO 15189:2022.
  • Proven track record in delivering excellence.
  • Knowledge of Q-Pulse would be an advantage.
