Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Laboratory Operations Group Leader to provide strategic and people-focused leadership within the US DMPK Department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, matrixed environment and is passionate about guiding teams, driving cross-functional alignment, and fostering continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to team members, supporting their development, performance, and engagement.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing, and accountability.
  • Serve as a liaison between scientific teams, global stakeholders, and external collaborators, ensuring alignment on priorities and timelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency, communication, and adaptability.
  • Monitor team training and compliance, ensuring readiness and adherence to internal standards.
  • Support strategic planning and resource allocation in collaboration with department leadership.
  • Navigate ambiguity and evolving organizational structures with resilience and clarity, helping the team stay focused and aligned.
  • Represent the team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives, advocating for team needs and contributing to broader departmental goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or CRO industries
  • Successful leadership experience preferred, including informal or project-based leadership
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a detail-oriented mindset
  • Experience managing or contributing to projects in a global matrix/team environment
  • Critical thinker with the ability to identify risks, resolve issues, and support decision-making
  • Skilled at prioritizing multiple initiatives while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to work independently, using sound judgment and knowing when to escalate
  • Collaborative spirit with a commitment to team development and knowledge sharing
  • Quick to learn new systems and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working under tight timelines and in evolving environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Details: 

This is a full-time, onsite position based on a first-shift schedule (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), with overtime required as needed. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Cambridge, MA are strongly encouraged to apply.
