Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on individual to support large-scale mammalian cell culture and reagent generation within the Discovery Sciences team. This role is physically intensive and requires the ability to lift and handle large flasks and equipment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare large-scale cell reagents using mammalian cell culture techniques.
  • Propagate and maintain various continuous cell lines according to established protocols.
  • Verify protein expression using analytical methods such as:
    • Flow cytometry
    • Western blotting
    • Small-scale protein purification
  • Accurately document experimental data in electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) in compliance with internal guidelines and SOPs.
  • Follow lab schedules and standard operating procedures to ensure the timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Ability to lift and move large flasks and perform physically demanding lab work, will be lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Regular weekend work is required (usually around 1-2 hours) in order to complete projects, schedule will be adjusted in advance to eliminate overtime as much as possible

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a regulated or high-throughput lab setting.
  • Proficiency with electronic lab notebooks and data documentation tools.
  • Experience with flow cytometry, Western blotting, and protein purification techniques.
  • Highly prefer experience with bioreactors in a GLP setting
  • Strong communication and time management skills.

Additional Details: 

The position is full-time, first shift, Monday-Friday with weekend work as projects require. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes requiring shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Andover, MA, are encouraged to apply.
