Job Description

Eurofins PSS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented candidate to support sample and standards management for analytical testing. This role involves receiving, storing, inventorying, and distributing samples using computer-based asset management systems, as well as preparing aliquots and labeling with automated systems

Sample Management Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • The candidate will be primarily responsible for the receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of samples and standards for analytical testing, utilizing computer-based asset management systems.
  • Prepares aliquots of samples and labels using automated systems.
  • Review documentation to ensure completeness of paperwork submission. She/he/they will also be responsible for the organization and maintenance of environmental chambers and ensure that samples are stored in appropriate temperature conditions.
  • Candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Candidates will need to interact with other team members from different departments to address their concerns, answer their questions, and assist them with their needs.
  • The candidate will complete and document activities following established site-specific GxP, SOP, and protocols.
  • Recognizes any deviations from project guidelines, determines appropriate course of action, and notifies applicable personnel.
  • Applicants must be willing to work around and handle unknown health risk material in a Biosafety level 2/3 Environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Experience in customer service
  • Experience with receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of samples for analytical testing
  • Experience with labeling and distribution of reference standards
  • Experience maintaining environmental chambers
  • Experience with data management is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Self-motivated, attentive to detail, adaptable
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree with 2 years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree in a Sciience related field 
  • Experience in customer service or strong communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

What to Expect in the Hiring Process:

Additional Details: 

The position is full-time, Monday - Friday with the hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm with overtime as needed.  Candidates living within a commutable distance of Gaithersburg, MD are encouraged to apply.
