Job Description
- Perform high-throughput phenotyping in an organized and timely manner
- Perform Cell Culture of Primary Cells and complete various Cell Based Assays independently
- Perform high-throughput sample testing in an organized and timely manner
- Maintain excellent aseptic technique and ensure sterility/quality of cell culture and assay outcomes
- Work safely within BSL-2 laboratory environment
- Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, prepare precise technical report summaries, any necessary analysis and maintain appropriate documentation
Basic Laboratory management, multitasking, and experimental troubleshooting
Qualifications
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in scientific discipline with emphasis in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines with 1-3 years of hands on experience
- Training and experience with Cell Culture (Primary Cells, Mammalian Cell Culture, maintaining cell lines, etc)
- Working knowledge of and/or skills in cell biology/genetics field (pipetting, aseptic technique, preparing media, cell based assay work, nucleic acid isolation, library prep, cytokinetic assay, etc)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Comfort working within a fast-paced lab environment
- Ability to perform basic dilution and stoichiometric calculations
- Ability to work independently with ambiguity and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Attention to detail and good oral and written communication skills required
Additional Information
Position is full-time, on-site Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Kalamazoo, MI are encouraged to apply.
