Job Description

The successful candidate will have a strong hands-on experience in bio-assay including but not limiting to molecular endpoints, biochemistry assay, bioanalytical assay and formulation characterization, etc.  The candidates shall also be analytically minded, systematic, and embrace data-driven decision making. The scientist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the client organization to perform experiments to aid development of nanomedicine candidates and non-virus delivery platform for the next generation of Genetic Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with project team to design and execute bioanalytical assay to support preclinical characterization of nanomedicine (e.g. in vitro potency assessment, ligand-receptor binding assessment, etc.).
  • Develop and execute molecular endpoint assay to support in vitro or in vivo assessment of nanomedicine (e.g. Tissue processing, DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, flow cytometry, etc.)
  • Lipid nanoparticle formulation and characterization (e.g. Buffer exchange, Ribogreen assay, DLS, HPLC, etc.)
  • General laboratory assistance, including ordering and receiving lab supplies, preparation of reagents, and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical challenges and provide scientific and technical input to project teams
  • Support workflow automation and optimization.
  • Help design and complete experiments, perform data analysis and present results.
  • Accurate recording of all practical work: completion of electronic notebook while maintaining procedure quality standards

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. (or above) in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, biotechnology or related field
  • 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular endpoint or nucleic acid formulation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience working on Lipid nanoparticles (LNP) or mRNA is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in plate-based automation or semi-automation assay development/execution is strongly preferred.
  • Experience of using Benchling as an electronic notebook is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to adapt and exercise flexibility for changing platform needs, workflows, and projects.
  • Ability to craft, complete, and interpret experiments independently, and to advance scientific understanding.
  • Excellent communication skills and efficiency in collaborating across functional boundaries and in a team environment
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, multitasking, desire to learn new techniques and contribute to innovative projects in a fast-paced working environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in processing, organizing, analyzing, and visualizing data and information from disparate sources and the  ability to extract insight from data
  • Familiar with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, GraphPad, and analytical software associated with methods.

Additional Information

The position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
